Pepsi RefereshEverything.Com Contest

I was reading through a free copy of the Wall Street Journal that we got from the Marriot where we stayed this weekend. There was a large ad for RefreshEverything.Com. A forum for posting ideas that could help the country. People would apply, layout their idea, and then get votes. I will plan to put together an application along with video for the next version of the foreigntraineddentists.org community. I plan to tie a few of the ideas we came up with in the last year of posts together into an entry to the contest.

Hopefully, I can count on you all to critque the plan and also to vote on it. I'll get started tonight in putting together something. Stay tuned... I will post a link to the idea on March 1.

Tell us about yourself

Anthony Garcia

I am a computer programmer / project manager who has been married to a foreign trained dentist (FTD) for 11 years. I have built complex information systems for corporations and government. I advocate for FTDs who can contribute to improve U.S. dental care online and where it is under served.

About the project

Main Goals

  • Advocate for patient dental care through second opinions on treatment
  • Provide a knowledge base of diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes
  • Offer review experiences with dental tourism abroad
  • Help foreign dental schools certify with the American Dental Assoc
  • Help foreign dentists partner with U.S. dental grads to start clinics

The "Foreigntraineddentists.org" project provides powerful social tools that helps foreign trained dentists (FTDs) find practical ways to legally help improve dental care in the United States. Through this community, FTDs can advocate for patients. FTDs can build up their credentials as trustworthy dental knowledge experts. They can run the business ends of dental clinics with U.S. dental graduates as partners. U.S. dental grads would be hired to make informed dental treatment plans and perform procedures.

Deliverables:

Social network features for:

  • Dental Treatment Plan Second Opinion.
  • Dental Treatment Plan Case Review.
  • Dental Treatment Abroad Review.
  • Dental Clinic Incubator that pairs foreign trained dentists and U.S. dental grads.
  • Foreign dental school American Dental Association certification assistance.
  • Open source dental clinic software built on FTDs know-how to help lower the cost of dental operations while improving the communications experience between dentists and patients.

Comments

Late to post this on March 1. I will try again on April 1.

I let the date slip on posting this idea. However, it led me to another site Change.Org where you can also post ideas and get votes about Health Care in America. Searching for the word DENTAL, I found a link to:

http://www.patientsbeyondborders.com/

In cases where I want to talk about Dental Tourism, I will promote this site with a link on my page.

Another possible outlet for developing this community and credentials based applications for foreign trained dentists might be takepart.com. I saw their commercial while watching the Oscars tonight. http://www.takepart.com/search/all/dental.
