Hi all, i am new to this site. I am a licensed dentist from Nigeria. Just relocated to the states in Oct.2011. Preparing to take NBDE 1. My one major challenge now is getting a job...

It is nice having this forum, very encouraging....

Cheers

We would all benefit from your experiences and I hope you will share them here.

UIC tells me that I have to go to school for 2 years, pay $150k, pass 2 tests and just the getting in to school process might take 2 years or more! does anybody has any, any any idea how to do it quickly? any state, we will relocate, any school, any price - I just want to practice dentistry!!! I do everything except implants, I use to work in busy surgery (20-50 patients per day) - PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I studied this, California and Minnesota were the only states but I believe California is now closed and Minnesota is COLD!

Hi..i just got the time to browse the internet today and learned about this site..i had been searching for some support groups esp to foreign trained dentists like me. Cheers to FTD's and thanks to the people who made this site! I'd be checkin' on this from now on along with my FB...lolz...I'm a dentist from the Philippines who had 10 years and more of successful practice there but migrated to USA because of my husband's career..not knowing that coming here I have to sacrifice mine (with the current situation and regulations for Foreign trained dentists).....and that is kind of sad...i had done lots of researches about how to be able to use my knowledge in line with dentistry though i have a second degree now and reviewing to obtain a license. I still miss being a dentist every now and then and in my heart i know i'll always be a dentist...:P

Hello all,
Just a quick Hi to my fellow illustrious foreign trained dentists.
Good luck to all of you.
